Cannon or your own: My Own
Civilian Identity: Coriander Rice. Cori or Andy for short.
Super Hero or Villian Name ( If any. ) :
Hero or Villain: Hero
Gender: Female
Apparent age: 24
Age: 24
Hair: Brown, the shade of polished dark oak.
Eyes: Green with black rings around the outside.
Height and weight: 5'5 and 110 Lbs.
Appearance: Coriander is slim and willowy of build. She's pale because she spends most of day indoors at work. She has no birthmarks, tattoos or other distinguishing marks. Her face is heart shaped with large eyes. Generally she can be seen wearing dark colors (she imagines that they cancel out her pale skin…) of the sweater/slacks variety. She does not wear make up.
Super Powers and Abilities:
Empathy-Telepathy - (Thought-sensing with emotion sensing). Her Empathy is much stronger than her telepathy. She can sense strong emotions, and sometimes pictures with said emotions, from distances up to 100 ft. For her telepathy to work, however, she has to be in the same room with the target. She gains images from both talents, though they are not often clear.
Above Average intelligence - Cori has spent most of her life reading. Everything from ancient histories to plans of war. Most of what she has read has stuck with her and thus she has a large knowledge base to draw from when she is stuck in an unfortunate situation.
Weaknesses ( Must have at least one. ) : Her Telepathy is based on willpower. She cannot read the thoughts of a person with stronger will than herself. Cori can only read the thoughts of humanoids, and while her empathy does not require much energy, her telepathy does. The longer she uses the later the more energy she uses. There is danger that if she uses her Telepathy too long she could get stuck in another person's mind, throwing her into a coma and slowly draining her body.
She has the normal human weaknesses, on top of being slightly sickly and physically weak. Though highly intelligent in book sense, Coriander tends to be forgetful and is highly ignorant of popular trends. She is also is in horrible shape and often forgets to feed herself in favor of a new book or some other quest.
Personalty ( Optional, but I really would rather you included it. ) : Quiet and shy, Cori tends to speak to herself more than other people. She loves plants and animals. Generally she does her best to appear vaguely normal. The young woman is hyper-aware of the fact that her gifts would label her a "freak" to other "normal human beings." This comes, of course, from that hive of all our deepest insecurities and fear- High School.
Background: Cori was born with her gifts, which she inherited from her birth father. At the age of six months young Coriander was orphaned and subsequently adopted by a kind couple with no other children. She was eight when her gifts began to surface. Her parents, well meaning but troubled by their long-hoped for child's strangeness, dismissed it as an over active imagination.
Through her schooling years she quickly learned that the other children were somehow aware that she was different. Alienated from her peers at a young age she grew apart, and thus deeper into her abilities. Eventually she became aware that her gifts caused people to dislike her.
At the age of 13 she tried to block them, permanently. This resulted in a breakdown a year later, in which her gifts became extra sensitive and incapable of being shut down. Soon she began to have trouble distinguishing between her thoughts and feelings and those of others. Almost on the verge of insanity the young woman had a break through. She discovered accidentally how to ground herself and block all outside thoughts again.
Shaken by her ordeal she came to the decision that not only must she not ever try to forsake her "gift", but she must try to help others with it as much as possible.
Known Enemies ( Optional. ) : None
